200 pounds tonight Mass State Police working to determine what caused the storm drain cover to dislodge and launch friday morning. The cover dislodged inside the oneil tunnel and southbound side just before 8 oclock. Mass state police say it appears the cover went through the drives windshield. The driver continued to the tunnel crashing along the wall. Cameras also captured significant damage to the rear of the vehicle. This is an incredibly infrequent event. In fact the accident drew quick spots from massdot at one this afternoon when mass. Dispatched crews to inspect more than 500 pieces of hardware along 93 from summerville to the south bay mall. That included Manhole Covers Electrical Panel covers and storm drain covers like the one that launched friday morning. We got a closeup look at those inspections from inside the Highway Operation Center. The 280 is open now. Just before 7 00 p. M. A pair of chp officers lead the first cars over the newly reopened interstate 280. Crews fenned 10 hours uhy finished 10 hours ahead of schedule. We took 101 because i didnt know it was opiate. It was open yet. Crews worked for more than a hundred hours uninterrupted replacing a hinge that connects two sections of the freeway. The construction shutdown the northbound lanes, a headache for some. I hate 101. Avoid it like the plague.
