The Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED), and the United Nations Systems in Sierra Leone, will be convening a High-Level Dialogue on the Sierra Leone Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF) at the Radisson Blu Hotel on Tuesday, June 8
th 2021
The Dialogue aims at discussing the INFF and the way forward for enhanced Medium-Term National Development Plan (MTNDP) resource mobilization through various recommendations highlighted in the document. The half-day event will feature a keynote address by the Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh.
“Additionally, statements will be made by Dr Francis Kai-Kai, the Minister of MoPED, Mr Dennis Vandy, the Minister of Finance, UN Resident Coordinator Babatunde Ahonsi and UNDP Resident Representative Pa Lamin Beyai, followed by a high-level panel discussion”, it reads.

Team Europe in action to support skills training and boost youth employment in Sierra Leone.
The European Union with co-funding from the German Government today launched the fourth phase of the Employment Promotion Program (EPP IV) which focuses on improving the living conditions of young people in rural communities through better employability and more employment opportunities in the beneficiary districts of Kailahun, Kono, Koinadugu and Falaba.

The Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Francis Kai-Kai, has today, paid an inspirational and spirited visit to the Cartographic Mapping Officers for the 2021 Mid-Term Population and Housing Census, during their training sessions conducted by Statistics Sierra Leone.
During the visit, the Minister expressed his delight in commencement of the training of cartographic mappers; congratulating the participants, who are part of the 1,200 shortlisted candidates selected for the nationwide exercise and for being part of such a landmark event that would kick start the actual Census process.
Dr. Kai-Kai emphasized the importance of the process, noting this was the first time an electronic Census was happening in the country, which in itself would make the process to generate credible Population and Housing Data mid-way between the Census in 2015 and 2025. Sierra Leone’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Dr. Francis Kai-Kai held a meeting yesterday Friday, with a visiting ECOWAS delegation and members of the National Project Committee (NCP) – a Task Force established for the ECOWAS Logistics Depot construction project in Lungi, Freetown, to discuss progress on the ongoing construction work now said to be at phases 2 and 3.
In his remarks, Dr Francis Kai-Kai emphasized the importance of the ECOWAS Depot to Sierra Leone and the subregion, noting that the decision to locate the depot in Sierra Leone is to demonstrate the country’s ability in managing such projects, when completed.
