ECOWAS in a statement titled, ‘Security advisory on the current security situation in the country and signed by the ECOWAS Commissioner for General Administration and Conference, Vafolay Tulay advised its staff to limit social engagements and avoid going out at night after work hours.
Part of the statement read: “There is a heightened sense of insecurity sweeping across Nigeria lately.
“Intelligence reports warn of plans by undesirable elements to infiltrate various parts of the nation, particularly state capitals including Abuja with the view to perpetrate crimes such as abductions and kidnappings for ransom, or as means of getting recruits for terrorist activities.

The Monrovia City Mayor, Jefferson Koijee, has lauded the intervention of the Nigerian government which helped to end the civil war which rocked Liberia over 30 years ago.
He also said the Liberian authorities plan to build a memorial park in honour of those who lost their lives during the Liberia civil wars.
Mr Koijee said this during a visit to PREMIUM TIMES on Tuesday in Abuja.

ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) Commissioner for General Administration and Conferences, Vafolay Tulay, (a Liberian) and two other officials.
The official, who said Nigeria played a pivotal role in ending the bloody conflict, said the park would also document the ‘supreme sacrifice’ nationals of other countries paid to ensure the West African nation navigated the challenging period and peace returned.
