TRURO The Truro Conservation Trust has dropped its lawsuit against a neighbor of one of its properties who had allegedly clear-cut conservation land and used it as a dumping ground.
The trust worked out an agreement with Ronald Singer, who allegedly cleared about half of the trust’s 5-acre Francis Farm Road parcel next to his home on Depot Road. Singer paid the trust an undisclosed amount and the trust agreed to drop the suit last month.
Fred Gaechter, the trust’s president, said he signed a nondisclosure agreement and couldn’t reveal the size of the settlement but noted that it would go to restore the land.
