trying not to get hit. they are stonewalling reporters day after day. now the justice were dumb department is blocking the intelligence committee from accessing the documents found at both president biden s home and former president trumps properties. lawmakers from both sides of the aisle are going after that move. and they are not they are no warning, rather they will stop at nothing to get their hands on those documents so they can do their jobs properly. you know, investigate, watch. the members of congress have an absolute right to this information so we can make an informed judgment that the risk if and eight this document imposed by not being properly handled. how can we judge and to see if it is accurate or if there mitigation efforts are sufficient if we don t know what it is where the materials that were exposed potentially as? we are left in limbo until somehow a special counsel designates it is okay for us to get briefed. is not going to stand. harris :
requests so we are trying to figure out okay, is this election interference by omission? because joe biden and the justice department new four days before it that this was the case that they were improperly handled and yet not a peep. so yeah, i think it is political and we have seen that by giving the comparison between trump and what is happening now. harris : let me follow-up you foyer for this information, i am just curious, do you get a no, a stall, was the response? kara: it depends. there are lawyers that know how to stall, conservatives as a conservative organization if they see what kind of answers we want they will go to technicalities, they will try to limit the information that we and the american people can see hopefully now that republicans have control over the house and that oversight capability is intensified, hopefully they will be pushed to give us some real information. harris : it s good to get that detail. emily: may i interject as well by law the governme
does it tacitly bring to a halt things like the hunter biden investigation if you can t get your hands on the documents? sean: and they get shows if you can t get your hands on these documents for the bipartisanship you really can t get your hands on the hunter biden documents but also i think you want oversight of the fbi and doj and that will come if the senate has both parties have the documents from both trump and biden and they can look at how now the fbi and the doj are handling both cases. it will be bipartisan to make sure it is handled squarely and fairly. harris : so do you think this is political? kara: absolutely. it s indicative of that two-tiered suit stomach system of justice we see over and over again because we checked in the national archives have yet to comment on this, right? when trumped at it it was over and over and over again they made statement after statement. but here, we don t know what we don t know as the senator said. at the heritage foundation we a
that has provided lethal aid to ukraine. the previous administration sent blankets to ukraine. yes. there was a delay. there s nothing new in the emails about the timing. there was a lot of emails and back and forth exchanges about the timing. an interesting interview from meet the press. joining me now shawna thomas. what are the biggest take aways from the emails and what do you make of the timeline discrepancies? i think the biggest take away is it does sort of bolster senator schumer s case for actually calling witnesses once the impeachment articles get to the senate. we have more confusion. calling witnesses like doctor duffy who the witnesses are a part of. that s number one. number two, i think we need to give the senator for public integrity credit for continuing to dig into things and continuing to file foyer requests and continuing to try to make the public record about this more fulsome.
requests and thanks to her foyer requests, we learned that in fact yes, the trump folks, the trump inaugural planners had been seriously considering adding military vehicles to the inaugural parade. the conversation started as can t you send us some pictures of military vehicles we could add to the parade? the official said to his or her colleague that i explained that it would be out of guidelines and i m reluctant to produce a list of military vehicles that we might be held to. so the trump inaugural s attempt to roll freaking tanks and missile launchers down pennsylvania avenue behind the piano guys and baton twirlers, they denied they asked for those things, but they did. we know from open source reporting that that caused a pentagon freak out that explains why in fact that never happened for the trump inauguration. the president really liked this idea of trading big military equipment in his honor. they tried again last year. the president last year ordered the pentagon to start p
