Henny Penny Art Space & Cafe back open after COVID shutdown

If you’re ready to get back to that, no worries, it’s time. After 14 months of being closed due to COVID, Henny Penny Art Space & Cafe is open and ready for little artists and their parents. Kids and adults can visit seven days a week between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to make art, hang out, eat snacks, and drink coffee. Projects change from week to week, take less than an hour to complete, and cost $8. Past art projects include mini-animal canvasses, 3D animal cut-outs, and mobiles. Carrie Christian, art and activity coordinator at Henny Penny, breathes a sigh of relief to be back. Christian has facilitated projects at the space for three years and has been missing her young creators. She takes pride in making a space where it’s fun and easy to host activities that are often messy and sometimes challenging to do at home.

Nordista Freeze makes journey to Savannah for Victory North show

Nordista Freeze is coming to Savannah hot off the heels of winning Lighting 100’s Music City Mayhem battle of the bands. The Nashville artist won over listeners with his exuberant live showmanship, Beach Boys harmonies, and 60’s psychedelic pop, all performed with infectious, sunny charm. “It’s a big thing here in Nashville,” Freeze said of Music City Mayhem. “A local radio station and big promoters, Lightening 100, throw this event once a year to let the underdogs battle it out. Anyone can submit a song. Everyone on staff listens to the songs and they all rank them. Then the top thirty-two get put in a bracket and duke it out. Whoever gets the most votes gets a ton of stuff like studio time, gear, and a practice space for six months.”

Good Times Jazz Bar & Restaurant reopens in Savannah after COVID hiatus

After being closed for a year because of COVID-19, Good Times Jazz Bar & Restaurant has finally reopened and returned to providing the excellent food and music that made it an essential spot for jazz lovers in Savannah. “We’re excited to be open,” said Chef Joe Randall, the legendary Savannah chef who came out of retirement to share his expertise with the restaurant. “It’s one of those things where we waited a year in order to get things right and want everybody to be safe.” Good Times celebrated its grand reopening with an invitation-only event featuring fine wine, hors d’oeuvres, and an all-star band.
