Public works website. Were in the process of relinquishing maintenance to Property Owners to try to give the public a sense of what it costs to maintain an average street tree. I believe weve put in 500 every year or two so if you multiply that by four trees that would be 2,000. However, realistically i would currently estimate it would be a few hundred dollars to have someone snip off the lower prawns. What would be the big deal about removing them . The departments policy is typically if a tree is relatively healthy and sustainable to keep the tree in place. The smaller palm is less concerning, its unusual. Theyre not creating a problem, not impeding the public right of way. The trees are young so dont have required clearance over the tree. We dont expect a young treel to have 14 feet of clearance, but eventually theyll have required clearance over the sidewalk so our reluctance to approve stems from the fact that if we let everyone remove their trees now and start over with new tree
Thank you. Have you looked into the cost of relocation of these trees . Wech. We have. Last time i moved two fully mature palms stored them and moved them back after the project was completed 50,000. Wasnt that high, but we have a palm tree remover who will remove the trees for us for a very reasonable price. He would then sell them to somebody else and make money that way so that okay. From a financial standpoint theres an option to donate them at a higher cost. But open for negotiation. Thank you. Mr. Buck, any rebuttal . Chris buck, urban forestry. No rebuttal at this time. Thank you. Thank you. Commissioners the matters submitted. Should i start . Sure. Okay. Im not a fan of the red flower plum mr. Buck and i have had conversations regarding that, i do think there is some serious overcrowding in this planter. I dont necessarily believe that all of them should believe removed and replaced by one tree, but at a minimum two of these need to go away. One is definitely in the pedestrian
Dies. Now a local congressmans son is being sued. The accusations of a deadly hazing ritual. Good evening. Im jim rosenfield. Im jacqueline london. A son found his parents bodies in lower moreland. Neighbors began to mourn. George spencer is live tonight in lower moreland where he has been tracking the new developments for us tonight. George. Reporter swrim, even the District Attorneys Office tonight admits that this case is a difficult one. Right now some ten hours later you can see police are still blocking the entire road here and tonight we spoke to the familys pastor who was teaching religion class to one of the couples young sons when the school was notified. Reporter from sky force 10 we got our best look at the home where the longtime couple was found dead today, their bodies mangled by a chainsaw. In this community where neighbors say everyone knows one another, the crime hits too close for longtime friends like eric shellcross. It strikes home. Yeah its unbelievable. Reporter
Tanker, its worth mentioning the coast guard classified this as a major marine casualty. As you said damage has exceeded 500,000. Im live on Treasure Island abc 7 news. And now i team has been digging into the record and our dan noyes got a angry reaction at the bar pilot office today. Its part of the job im used to heated reactions to investigations. But i never expect simple questions to get physical. Well we went to the bar pilot office to ask questions one of the bar pilots came out with out prodding from me began to yell some profanities at me began to push me. I had to call the police. At this point he continued to push me, while i was on the phone with police. And so i will have that package at some point later in the broadcast. Hang with us well try to get to that shortly. Moving on here this mishap is a clear reminder of the danger of navigating huge ships under bridge buzz thankfully not disastrous like the cosco busson spill in 2007. Were live with more on the risks out ther
And so americas choice is that we can keep focusing on reactions or we can change the conditions that have led to these kind of actions. Black americas choice tonight is that we can focus on those things that can help us right now be more constructive and build the community that we want to see. The fact of the matter, what were witnessing tonight, its been said over and over again. The seeds of the violence that this nation and sown over and over again, the harvest is what were witnessing tonight. And yet my father spoke to us back in the 50s and 60s about having a revolution of values and focusing more on people rather than things. He talked about we had to change our alliances to be more ecumenical. He talked about wiping out poverty, systemic racism and militarism, and we ignored the prophet. And unfortunately, his words are coming on to pass tonight. My hope and prayer is that somebody will pick up a phone who has influence in this situation, who can turn it another way. White peo
