Right now some ten hours later you can see police are still blocking the entire road here and tonight we spoke to the familys pastor who was teaching religion class to one of the couples young sons when the school was notified. Reporter from sky force 10 we got our best look at the home where the longtime couple was found dead today, their bodies mangled by a chainsaw. In this community where neighbors say everyone knows one another, the crime hits too close for longtime friends like eric shellcross. It strikes home. Yeah its unbelievable. Reporter investigators tell us it was a bloody scene. The 48yearold man and 43yearold woman was discovered by their teenage son, a chainsaw was laying nearby and no one else was in the home. Tonight prosecutors will only confirm one of the deaths was a homicide. The other remains under investigation. Its a difficult one. The child has found his parents. Its not what we would wish for anybody. Reporter eric was teaching religion lass to one of the couples other sons when the school got word of the incident. Tonight at the cathedral dozens of the familys friends gathered for a prayer vigil. Im very grateful that the boys have an extended family that are really taking good care of them. While the four hostages continue to sort of undergo their form of decompression tonight suspect paul jordan is still undergoing psychic observation at norris town state hospital. Reporter the paul jordan who surrendered after police say he took four hostages is not the man his neighbors say lived next door. When you think what he is accused of it doesnt match up at all to that type of guy. Im socked. Reporter detectives say 25yearold paul jordan bought a. 9 millimeter handgun to the lamont company where he had been let go on monday. Investigators say jordan fired a round into a basement wall and for an hour he held four firefighters at gunpoint. We were having conversations with him by phone. He gave up to the swat team without a fight. There was no problems. All hostages were released unharmed. I said well okay what . He said well im one of the ones that came out, you know when the hostages im fine. I have no problem right now. Her son jamal is okay. Ive been in the military so its not scary for me. New at 11 00 the son of a delaware congressman is the center of a hazing ritual. Samuel carney is seeking at least 50 billion in damages for the death of a Clemson University fraternity pledge. He is the son of u. S. Congressman tom carney, a democrat who previously served as the Lieutenant Governor of delaware. One of the lawsuits was filed by tucker. A wrong feeling death suit brought by his parents. The 19yearold fell head first into the lake during a Sigma Ki Fraternity run last september. His parents claim carney and two other frat erpt members have been deceptive into the investigation into his death. The fraternity says there was a tradition of forcing pledges to jump off bridges and swim to shore. Carney and his wife released a statement saying no one, certainly no parent can feel anything but sympathy for this familys grief and anger. We have faith that those trusted with investigative and legal authorities will act based on facts. Our advice to sam since the tragedy of september has been to tell truth and remember that any detail might help that and that continues to be our message to him. The Coroners Office says theres been no ruling on the cause of death and the case remains under investigation. Turning to the weather now, we are drying out in center city on the avenue of the arts. There are questions tonight surrounding the death of a Cumberland County father who died after Violent Police took him into custody. Witnesses tell nbc 10 that they got physical with the witness after they had him handcuffed and unconscious on the street. Slow all wrun its down. Subject under tried to apprehend. That Police Dispatch recording seems to tell a different side of the story. The county Prosecutors Office tells nbc 10 police were arresting Phillip White at the time, but have not yet said why. Witnesses say police had him restrained and on the ground and in the middle of great street just before he died around 11 00 this morning. Punch them stomp them kick them, and they let the dog ouflt car, and the dog bit him, and his face and his body. Tonight a local activist is demanding to know what exactly happened to white. The fact of the matter is mr. Phillip white is gone. He is no longer here with them, and he died of police custody. We tried to figure out why. The police chief released a statement that the departments sincere thoughts and prayers are with the family and the officers involved. New tonight from our Jersey Shore Bureau atlanta citys fire chief is retiring. An investigation into him dropping his pants in public. The Mayors Office confirmed dennis brooks will retire tomorrow. That prosecutor looked into whether cane gave secret documents to a newspaper. The ruling means cane could still face perjury and other charges.
