Former Miss South Africa Basetsana Kumalo posted a flashback video on Instagram, looking back at her time at Miss World in 1994.
Basetsana s pageant journey first began when she crowned Miss Soweto at the age of 16. And although she had planned to study education, at 20 years old, she was crowned Miss South Africa 1994, and her life took a different path.
Throughout her reign, the confident and intelligent university student shattered glass ceilings and served as an icon of racial progress, as well as a role model for South African women of colour.
