Fourteen years on from the single worst massacre of journalists in history, only “partial justice” has been delivered for the families of those killed in Ampatuan massacre in the Philippines in 2009. The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) joins its affiliate, the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP), in standing in solidarity with the families and communities of the victims as they continue to demand full justice and compensation for the tragedy.
The traffic plan for All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day took effect at 6 a.m. of November 1, 2023, said a City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) official.
CTTMO Head Dionisio Abude said in a radio interview, on Wednesday morning, November 1, that the office is constantly monitoring the traffic situation and that the flow of vehicles in the city is not congested. He added that there would be a huge build-up at Davao Memorial Park by afternoon and that the CTTMO would implement the rerouting scheme.
“We will reroute the travelers coming from the south going to Davao Memorial Park, they will no longer be allowed to proceed to the McArthur Highway),” Abude said.
As of writing, the situation at Davao Memorial is normal, and the rerouting has not yet been implemented. Once the rerouting is implemented, buses and trucks coming from Maa are prohibited from making a right turn going south. Rather they will make a left turn then proceed to Sandawa then a right turn to Qu
As the All Souls' and All Saints' Day observances approach, the Davao City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) has implemented a traffic plan to accommodate the influx of visitors to major cemeteries around the city.
The eight cemeteries receiving special attention are: Davao Memorial Park, Davao Masonic Cemetery, Orchard Memorial Park Davao, San Pedro Memorial Park, Forest Lake Memorial Park, Davao Chinese Cemetery, Buhangin Memorial Park, and Wireless Cemetery.
Various measures have been put in place at each location to ease traffic congestion and provide a safe and convenient experience for all visitors.
So whether you're headed to Davao Memorial Park or Buhangin Memorial Park, be sure to follow the CTTMO's traffic regulations to ensure a hassle-free Undas experience for everyone.

Dr. Daisy Hintay, the mother of 25-year-old First Lt. Karl Joseph Hintay, carried the urn of her son as she disembarked from an NC212i light transport aircraft that flew them from Mactan, Cebu to their hometown in Davao City around 8:17 p.m.
A full military honors was accorded to Hintay by the Tactical Operations Wing Eastern Mindanao led by its deputy wing commander, Colonel Jesus Nelson Morales during their arrival at Davao Air Station in Barangay Sasa, Davao City.
