Subscriber only A dispute between a Lockyer Valley man and his ex-wife s partner has played out in court after the man threw an object from his vehicle that struck the victim s car, causing damage. The Gatton Magistrates Court was told on Monday, Clint Jeffrey Hewitt, 38, was driving along Forest Hill-Fernvale Road at Lowood when he threw an object out of his car s window that struck Christopher Luke Johnson s mirror, causing damage. Hewitt appeared in the Gatton Magistrates Court on Monday, March 8, charged with four offences. Police prosecutor senior sergeant Al Windsor said he would offer no evidence on one charge of common assault and one charge of wilful damage.

Subscriber only A Lowood woman will appear in court after she was busted driving under the influence of drugs on Forest Hill Fernvale Road in Lowood on Wednesday. The 42-year-old was intercepted by the Ipswich Road Policing Unit at 11.45am due to her manner of driving, and was found to be carrying children that were unrestrained. Lowood Police Officer-in-Charge Senior Sergeant James Bromley said the woman was also arrested and conveyed to the Ipswich General Hospital for being under the influence of drugs. She was given a notice to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on February 23, for driving under the influence of drugs and her licence was immediately suspended.

THERE was no shortage of Lockyer Valley residents getting busted for cannabis possession, production and/or supplying in 2020.

Gatton Star has compiled a list of some of those who were convicted in the Gatton Magistrates Court for weed this year.
Melissa Lynette Dixon pleaded guilty on November 16 to four offences including charges of unlawfully possessing cannabis, unlawfully possessing a water pipe used for smoking cannabis and committing a public nuisance offence.
Police prosecutor senior sergeant Al Windsor said that as police walked towards Dixon’s door on September 9, they smelled burning cannabis from within the house.
