Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray on Saturday criticized deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis’s trip to Japan in August and industries minister Uda.
Addressing a press conference, Thackeray, while slamming the Shinde government over foreign tours, wanted to know why industries minister Uday Samant was going to Davos four months ahead of the World Economic Forum (WEF) there. He said Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council Neelam Gorhe led a 50-member delegation on a study tour abroad.
The department sent show cause notices to these companies between June and July. According to an official, hefty tour packages were booked in the name of people who could hardly afford it, by using fake identity. Also these operators were not deducting 5% TDS, which was required for the packages.
