Millennium Bridge, the only cross-river route for pedestrians and cyclists between the city centre and the southern part of the Outer Ring Road, remains cut off. Knavesmire Road, Clementhorpe from Terry Avenue, Main Street in Nether P[poppeton Acaster Lane, Naburn Lane and Fordlands Road are still closed. City of York Council announced this morning that it has cleaned and reopened Huntington Road. North Yorkshire County Council has yet to update its list of road closures, which yesterday evening still included Cattal Bridge over the River Nidd west of York.

City of York Council say more than properties in the Clementhorpe area of the city could be at risk of flooding from the river Ouse. The river Ouse is forecast to peak at 4.7m at noon today. Overnight a pump protecting riverside properties failed at about 2.30am in Peckitt Street, but it has now been replaced and is working. In Malton the river Derwent is now above record levels of just above 5m with County Bridge still closed between Malton and Norton.
A flooded Skeldergate this morning THERE are 42 flood warnings in place across York and North Yorkshire with homes in York at risk of flooding this morning. City of York Council say about 50 properties in the Strensall to Yearsley Baths area of the city could be at risk of flooding from the river Foss. Council officers are going door to door warning people this morning in Huntington Road and handing out sandbags and telling people to deploy defences. It s hoped only gardens will be affected, but homes are at risk due to rainfall in the upper Foss catchment. The river Ouse in York is currently at 4.26m above normal and is expected to peak at 4.7m later today.

It said Main Street in Nether Poppleton and Naburn Lane would be closed later today, while Fordlands Road in Fulford would be closed tomorrow morning. It also revealed that a scaffold walk way was being put in place this evening on the left hand side of the road entering Fordlands Road, adding: Whilst the walk way is being constructed, a single lane will be maintained for vehicular access until the road is covered by flood water.
