It’s not all that clear when flames painted on cars have become a thing, but the fact remains that someone, somewhere, decided that painting fire on a car’s body would somehow increase its value. And it did, for a while at least, as a few years ago, you couldn’t build a proper custom car without gifting it with some type of art flames. 11 photos
We’re pretty certain flames were not something people wanted to be associated with cars back in 1934, though, the year this here Ford is supposed to have been born. Yet, here they are, even if from a distance they kind of look even worse than that, like red blood stains splattered on the hood, fenders, and doors.

Collectors spend a lot of time figuring out what custom car, truck, or bike should be the object of their next investment. Usually, they have to settle for something older, as incredible machines are not made every day. This is why we often see builds from a decade or more ago changing hands for ever-increasing amounts. 14 photos
The Ford F-1 pickup truck you see here is, as far as we can tell, at its first outing on the auction block. It is listed on the lot of cars going under the hammer in March during the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale, Arizona sale, and it will do so with no reserve. That means it will go to the highest bidder, for a price that should become the baseline for future sales.
1971 Ford F-100 Changes Hands After 33 Years for Peanuts 15 Jan 2021, 15:19 UTC ·

We had a crazy ride these past two month, as our journeys through the world of pickup trucks and the realm of Ford brought to light incredible machines from a time long gone. As fate would have it, because of their place in the custom world, most of these cars and trucks had at times huge price stickers attached. But not this F-100. 9 photos
For the record, Ford’s half-ton from yesteryear is one of the most widespread items on the pre-owned and custom markets. So for one to sell for big bucks, something extraordinary must be accompanying it. Like say a powerful engine, a faithful restoration, or some crazy custom job. In some cases, having the truck in the possession of a single person for long stretches of time works too. But, again, not with this F-100.

New Year, new you goes the saying, and there are so many ways it can manifest itself. Ford has chosen a specific situation, though, namely people going about their usual fitness routine even though it’s rather chilly outside. How does it tie into the company’s smart features? Easy: through the clouds of mist. 8 photos
Many people don’t change their routine based on seasons; even though in many parts of the world the winter has taken over, going to the gym, cycling, running, or walking remains a part of the regular fitness program.
Ford has taken notice that sometimes when we get back into the car after exercising, the physical effort can lead to unintended consequences. For example, mist can build up on the inside of the car’s windshield, which may be cause for an annoying delay of the start of our journeys, if only by minutes.
