The Internet Is Celebrating Star Wars Day
The Disney era of
Star Wars may have generated a lot of backlash and division, more than at any other point in the franchise’s entire history, but it remains one of the most popular, bankable and beloved brands in all of modern culture, and it’s going to stay that way for a long time to come.
Some supporters may have felt severely burned by
The Last Jedi and
The Rise of Skywalker for a variety of different reasons, but
Star Wars is never going to go out of fashion. Of course, today is all about a galaxy far, far away as fans celebrate May 4th, and there’s something brilliant about an entire day marking worldwide festivities based on nothing more than a pun.

Tomorrow is the high holy holiday for all of us
Star Wars fans, May The 4th, and that means there will be plenty of fun to be had.
One of the things I m most looking forward to is the crossover special that s debuting tomorrow on Disney+ with
Star Wars and
Disney+ said,
“Maggie is on an epic quest for her stolen pacifier. Her adventure brings her face-to-face with young Padawans, Sith Lords, familiar droids, Rebel scum, and an ultimate battle against the dark side.”
This won t be the only Simpsons special this year, either. Disney+ plans on more crossovers with other franchises!
‘Simpsons’ producer Al Jean on new ‘Star Wars’-inspired short and the ‘Mandalorian’ cameo you didn’t see
“The Simpsons” executive producer Al Jean and the show’s team could have used a little of The Force’s power when producing the new Disney+ short “Maggie Simpson in ‘The Force Awakens From Its Nap ” in a mere four months.
“We wrote the first draft around January 28. It was me, Michael Price and Joel Cohen and David Silverman directed. And we really worked nonstop from late January right till the end of last week,” Jean tells CNN. “You may think, ‘Wow, three minutes. How could you take so long?’ You know, it takes a long time to make something look casual.”
Maggie Simpson in ‘The Force Awakens From Its Nap,’ the first of several from
The Simpsons that will release throughout the year.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch
The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in “The Clone Wars”) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch – a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army each possess a singular exceptional skill which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.
