Today. We are shifting the direction of our course today. We are moving away from catholics and in particular the jesuits. We spent a lot of time talking about the jesuits in this course. We are going to be moving toward the protestants. We will be looking at some of the missionary efforts in the work they did. In particular today, we are looking at their work in early new england. One thing i want you to think about for seminar is this really critical question. You have basically done a whole crash course in jesuit missionary work for the last four weeks. So think about this. I think about some of the texts we have read and the work weve gone through. We did a week on Spanish Missions in south america, we did some work with jesuit relations and watched black robe. Then we did the novel, silence, and the adaptation of the novel into a film. We have been in south america, new france, japan, weve been doing this for about four weeks. We have been into south america, france, japan. We have been doing this for weeks. The question maybe we can start our seminars off with this thursday is why . Why do we spend so much time talking about the jesuits . I have my own reasons and answers to that. I would like you to develop them. May write that down and make a note to yourself. Why are we spending so much time writing but the jesuits . It is something we can start the conversation off with. One of the things i should say as a way to segue into this discussion of i will come back to that. Really do inform and shape Protestant Missionary work in important ways. You guys probably know this from your western civilization course. The protestants and c
Of thanksgiving. As we come to the National Holiday of thanksgiving, we know that there is a lot of mythology we grew up with about what happened on that first thanksgiving. Residentialzoned properties, id say weve heard in past, residel properties could provide an alte to placing them on the pole if Com
