The “hometown hero” is the founder of Relief Gang (alongside Houston DJ Mr. Rogers), a non-profit organization that was created in wake of Hurricane Harvey to help Houstonians rebuild their lives by providing them with food, clothing, shelter, and other resources. Since then, the organization has helped those in Beaumont (and surrounding areas), Louisiana, and Puerto Rico that have been affected by natural disasters. The rapper often does toy giveaways during the holidays and works closely with the elderly.

In addition, Trae is an advocate for social justice and change. In 2020, he was arrested during a protest for Breonna Taylor. The rapper is widely known for voicing his concerns about police brutality.
