Community blood drive set for May 25 at Toronto campus TORONTO Crossroads North River Campus will be hosting a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on May 25 from noon to 5 p.m. in the sanctuary at 207 N. River Ave., Toronto. For information or to make an appointment to donate, call the church office at (740) 537-3285 or (800) 733-2767 or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter: North. Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors. With someone in the United States needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished, according to the Red Cross. Donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types 0 negative, A negative and B negative.

Hike Saturday at Beatty Park STEUBENVILLE Beatty Park in Steubenville’s South End will host a spring wildflower hike beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday. Participants should meet at the playground. John Boileigh and Flora Verstraten-Merrin will take walkers through the park and identify wildflowers and fun facts about flowers that grow in Beatty Park and in Ohio. They also will review information about ediable and poisonous plants. The event is free to the public. Rock painting will be available for all ages after the hike, and all supplies will be provided. Painters can take their rocks home or hide them in the park. “Beatty Park Rocks” when found can be posted on the Facebook group at “Friends of Beatty Park.”
