Hike Saturday at Beatty Park
STEUBENVILLE Beatty Park in Steubenville’s South End will host a spring wildflower hike beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Participants should meet at the playground.
John Boileigh and Flora Verstraten-Merrin will take walkers through the park and identify wildflowers and fun facts about flowers that grow in Beatty Park and in Ohio. They also will review information about ediable and poisonous plants.
The event is free to the public. Rock painting will be available for all ages after the hike, and all supplies will be provided. Painters can take their rocks home or hide them in the park. “Beatty Park Rocks” when found can be posted on the Facebook group at “Friends of Beatty Park.”
