Dubbed Plant Power, the collection includes three styles. The Fluff Sugar Platform and Fluff Sugar Sandal shoes maintain Ugg’s fluffy interior using TENCEL Lyocell, a material produced by Austria’s Lenzing from sustainably harvested trees. The soles are made of a material produced using sugarcane as raw material. The Chukka boots are also lined with TENCEL but with soles made of LACTAE HEVEA, a renewable latex obtained from the Hevea tree.
“Our design team took inspiration from our iconic styles and created new silhouettes with carbon-neutral, plant-based materials,” Andrea O’Donnell, president of UGG, tells
Plant-Based News. “The resulting Plant Power Collection tells a story about what is possible and it’s an exciting step in on our journey towards a more sustainable future.”

In an era of increased consciousness about what our apparel is made of, UGG’s new footwear collection is a welcome sight. Aptly titled Plant Power, the collection reinvents the silhouettes of two timeless UGG favorites, the Neumel chukka boot and the ‘fluff’ platforms. But the update goes beyond a change in appearance. All of the shoes in the collection are made of plant-based, renewable materials that are sustainably sourced. The collection is part of a long-term commitment by UGG to increase the overall sustainability of its brand.
UGG Created Colorful Shoes That Are Made From Carbon-Neutral, Plant-Based Materials

Iconic styles are being reimagined with eco-friendly materials like renewable sugarcane, Hevea rubber, and natural hemp. The brand also recently came out with a supercozy collection with designer Telfar. (We re still not over those fuzzy bags!) Pieces like the brand s ever-popular fluff franchise, the Fluff Sugar Platform and Fluff Sugar Sandal, are all made from responsibly sourced materials. The Platform Sandals come in pink and yellow and are priced at $120, while the regular Fluff Sugar Sandals come in white, pink, yellow, and blue. They are priced at $110.
