Shooting a Security Guard at the Family Research council in august. He is now the first person ever to be charged with committing an act of terrorism in d. C. 28yearold Floyd Lee Corkins has been indicted under the districts antiterrorism act passed in 2002. Authorities say he shot an unarmed guard at the Family Research Councils Office on g street in northwest. Corkins has been in custody ever since. His next Court Appearance is set for friday. Firefighters in Fairfax County are on the scene putting out hot spots after a huge blaze this afternoon at a home m the 8400 block of sullenberger court in lorton. Return ballots, theres a bar code unique to that voter. We scan it into our system. We know if weve gotten the same baroded ballot back from the same voter. And then we will only count one of those bal lots from that voter. The maryland state board of elections says if you do send in two ballots, only the second ballot with the later date will count. They say they have been in touch with the vendor who issued these ballots and are confident the problem is under control. This is so confusing. If you sent in the first one, does it count or not . If you sent in the first one, it counts, unless you send in a second one, and then that first one doesnt count anymore. They go with the ballot that has the later date on it. Of course, whats important for everyone to remember is they look at absentee ballots after the election. So this will happen later.
