FLOWERY BRANCH – The Flowery Branch City Council gave second reading approval Thursday evening to a pair of rezoning applications that will allow for the construction of a facility measuring nearly 19½-acres underroof when fully completed.
The combined 80.4-acre property adjoins the Atlanta Falcons Training Center on Falcon Parkway.
Will Greer, representing developer Eberly & Associates of Atlanta, told council members during the online city council meeting that one of the main focuses of the project is making the gigantic facility as inconspicuous as possible.
“The main reason that the particular tenant that is driving this project is interested in this property is ultimately due to the level of screening that’s going to remain in place,” Greer said.
400,000 square feet of industrial space proposed near Flowery Branch Nearly 400,000 square feet of distribution facility space is being proposed on some 34 acres off McEver Road in South Hall. Developers aim to have the property annexed into the city of Buford, and Hall County objects to the proposal.
Pulling out of the addiction recovery center that Farley Barge operates on McEver Road in South Hall is hard enough.
He’s having trouble imagining nearly 400,000 square feet of distribution facility space as a neighbor.
“I’m concerned about the same things the community is concerned about, and that’s primarily centered around safety and security,” said Barge, who has started a “Stop McEver Warehouse Construction” push on the social media site Nextdoor.
