Longueuil will finally be able to cull up to 100 white-tailed deer in its Michel-Chartrand park after the most recent appeal was rejected in a Quebec court.
A city on Montreal’s South Shore can cull a maximum of 100 white-tailed deer that have overrun Michel-Chartrand park, a Quebec Superior Court judge ruled Thursday.
Animal rights activists have been fighting the city of Longueuil's plan, delaying the deer cull in Michel-Chartrand park by years with petitions, protests and finally a legal battle in Quebec Superior Court that ended with a ruling in the municipality’s favour.
