unaccounted for and not more? at this point we re very fortunate that s what s happened. just to clarify for viewers, obviously, the fbi is in this complex, but that is not the building that was hit, correct? there are some federal offices in that building that was hit. as far as what those federal offices are, i do not know. there are private businesses as well as federal businesses, and we ll have to as the investigation goes on, we ll actually determine what businesses, you know, lease each floor of that complex or that building. the plane hit at a very [inaudible] it appears that the plane struck about the second floor. again, that s very preliminary, very preliminary, but this what it appears. and for ems, what is the situation for treating people right now? you don t have anyone to treat, right? right now we do have triage established, and our primary role is now since the patients
been some, a pilot who had some kind of a beef with the irs and decided to go out in a pretty spectacular and awful way here. yeah. well, i mean, if you at least, you know, eyewitnesses are notoriously, they see a variety of things, but if it s true saying the fella was flying along and then banked hard, that s clearly evidence of somebody who s intentionally trying to do something. normally when a pilot gets in trouble, they don t fly for the crowded freeway, they try and take their aircraft somewhere a little more open, but it looks like he went right for a big, large building there. jon: and, you know, so viewers can understand, i used the comparison, you know, there have been people who get upset with police or, you know, some agency that they have a beef with, they ll drive their car into a building. in this situation the wings of a
someone s house that there was a report at this press conference and then actually they didn t say at the press conference, but rick leventhal s sources have brought to his attention the house may have belonged to the pilot. according to law enforcement officials talking to fox there does not appear to be any criminal intent with this plane crash in austin today into this seven-story office building. things may be changing that the investigation is preliminary as the former spokesperson from the faa made clear. i said, is there anything else you want people to know at this point, and he brought up the point that it s fluid, the situation, that the investigation is underway. in fact, firefighters are still in that building you re looking at trying to put out the fire. first defensively from the outside, now inside offensively trying to find any hot spots or areas still in flames. one person, we learned at the press conference, is still unaccounted for, two transported to the hospital. w
conference wrapped up, in place to give the kind of support in an official capacity from the city. so he s headed there. he wants to also tour a little bit of the area and exactly see what resources are there on the ground. remember, i had talked with the department of public safety, and as you heard rick ren that would just reporting, if, in fact, this looked intentional, that would trigger the department of public safety to spring into a more involved situation with this. i m going get them back on the phone and see if texas department of public safety is, in fact, seeing this as a trigger for their involvement. third piece of this, austin bergstrom airport was reportedly the closest larger airport, even though it s not all that big, but larger than some of the other smaller aviation centers nearby. i ve just confirmed this plane did not take off from there. they wanted to make that really clear. of course, we have several, almost half a dozen smaller aviation centers that could have
anything, but our windows look directly to that office building, we re directly across the street, and we immediately started seeing the first responders, ambulance, fire, when we saw that there was a lot of smoke right there, coming out of the parking lot, we went up on our third story, we have a three story office building, we went up on the roof and saw that the tremendous amount of black smoke, a lot of fire, the fire looked like it was engulfing at least two stories, and that was when the insulation and the windows were out. we saw a tremendous amount of smoke and a lot of fire. it burned for a good 20 to 30 minutes before they could get water on it. jamie: wes, are you seeing that most of the people are out of the building and standing around, are you seeing people that are still in the building trying to get out? don t see anyone in the building. the parking lots, the neighboring surrounding parking lots are full of people just standing. this is heavily you know,
