arly this year, amid the increasingly competitive Inland Northwest housing market, Sanoma Buckman thought she d finally found a great place to buy. Recent additions to the West Terrace area near Cheney have made new homes available. She and her partner put $3,000 in earnest money down on one of the newest homes and made an offer. But while walking through the neighborhood, Buckman says they ran into neighbors from up the street who said flooding issues have been rampant in the area.

SPOKANE, Wash. A winter snowstorm that made its way into the Inland Northwest on Wednesday brought a record-breaking amount of snow to Spokane.
Spokane International Airport saw 8.1 inches of snow by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, breaking the previous record for Dec. 30 of 5.4 inches set in 1990. Spokane also launched a full-city plow in response to the heavy snowfall.
The National Weather Service s Spokane office has been collecting snow reports from residents in eastern Washington and North Idaho.
