It seems that the girls can t escape the need for crime even in Beth s dream, whether it s for financial reasons since Ruby s (Retta) daughter is rejecting her kidney once again. In Beth s dream of Nevada life, the trio decides to start from the very beginning and rob a grocery store, and Beth gets shot during their raid. Fitzpatrick (Andrew McCarthy) the hitman from Season 4 shows up in the dream and tells Beth that no matter where she goes, she can t run from who she is.
That s when Beth regains consciousness and remembers the dream and realizes that she can t go to Nevada because nothing will be different, at least for her. She tells the girls as much. The girls obviously think it s a huge mistake and tell her that she s lucky that she didn t lose her life when she got shot, but Beth thinks it wasn t a matter of luck. Good Girls Season 4 Episode 4 recap Good Girls Season 4 Episode 4 see the girls excited that perhaps there is light at the end of the tunnel for them. However there is one very big obstacle in their way, hit man Mr Fitzpatrick. After all if he gets rid of Rio, then their deal with the FBI goes away. The girls then try to reach Fitzpatrick, but it is like he has disappeared into thin air. Finally after they do a favour for his henchman, Beth meets Fitzpatrick and asks him to call off the job. Fitzpatrick however still smarting from being rejected by Beth, refuses to call off the job, saying if he doesn t go through with it, Beth becomes a liability. Beth then decides to take matters into her own hands. She meets Rio and tells him the Feds are after him. Format
For the first couple of episodes,
Good Girls hovers in a comfortable narrative pattern. Beth is still working for Rio, using the hot tub store she runs with her husband, Dean (Matthew Lillard), as a front to launder money, as opposed to their now shut-down car dealership. She is also confronted by the hitman she previously hired to kill Rio, Mr. Fitzpatrick (Andrew McCarthy), in a storyline that is reminiscent of Leslie, a.k.a. Boomer, from season one. Ruby and Stan (Reno Wilson) deal with more financial woes as they help out their daughter Sarah’s kidney donor family. Agent Phoebe (Lauren Lapkus) has gone undercover with Beth instead of Ruby, hoping to uncover the details of her scheme, even though her higher-ups don’t believe a soccer mom could be involved in such crimes.

Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman and Retta have a lot to contend with when season 4 of the NBC crime dramedy returns this Sunday, and only ET exclusively premieres the action-packed official trailer, which finds the trio racing against the clock as the Secret Service closes in on their counterfeit ring.
Here s a refresher on where we last left off with Hendricks Beth, Whitman s Annie and Retta s Ruby: Beth is struggling to carve out her own criminal path separate from Rio (Manny Montana), using her husband’s spa company, Boland Bubbles, as a front. Ruby seems to have salvaged her marriage after a rocky road, but only time will tell if her hidden secrets implode. Annie is focusing on inner love and healing as she takes the journey to rebuild independence.
