ZAGREB (Croatia), January 13 (SeeNews) - Austrian aerospace and defence company Fischer Advanced Composite Components (FAAC) has started the construction of a 33 million euro ($40.2 million) aircraft parts manufacturing plant in Croatia s Jakovlje, near the capital Zagreb, local media reported on Wednesday.
The factory, whose construction began in December, will initially employ 450 people, news daily Poslovni Dnevnik reported, citing Sanja Borovec, mayor of Jakovlje.
FAAC will operate in Croatia under the name FAAC Solutions Croatia, according to the report.
FAAC announced the investment in May, 2019, when it said it has selected Jakovlje for the construction of a 12,200 square metre facility that will produce lightweight cabin components for commercial and business aircraft using new fiber composite technology.
