That comes before the commission and every time the legislation comes to the department we have to decide whether that legislation itself will affect the resources. In this particular case the call was simply it doesnt flaet affect the mechanism in the code thats proposed it cant affect the resources thats why we choose it. There are many pieces of legislation that come to the Planning Commission and before the board and so there are many pieces of legislation that come in some fashion be argued sort of indirectly affect the resources. Because this specifically says by definition you cant use the mechanism if it affects the resources so in our interpretation it doesnt require the City Attorney to make this call. We have to make in call every time thank you commissioner johns. Excuse me. City attorney wishes to responded. City attorney. I agree with the interpretation thats put forth but if the commission would like to hear the legislation actually just to clarify the comments before i
Consultants was good they did a go analysis and commissioner pearlmans comments about adding more footage to the stairs around it should be also considered. Im wondering i could keep going on but i think other people should commissioner hyland. Well, lets start with what i like about the project. I think the comments about the base has been addressed. The large door and breaking down the facade in the bays is successful. I personally dont have a preference brown whether its 4 bays or 6 bays. As i said the ar c meeting i think the plaza is a will be a wonderful space. It improves the context for the roof fountain. I dont have a particular concern about the stockton street facade with exception maybe setting precedent. Some of the things that have not been addressed from the ar c ru6 address one of the scale i dont see the project have changed role significantly enough to change the scale. We could i guess debate whether it brings it down to the pedestrian level or not thats up for debat
Apple store is wonderful to me having wifi available is an amenity its not an attraction. Thats something we wont resolve here director ram. You cant make eir signed of on expectation under sequa doesnt mean the project has not any analysis it has a fair amount of analysis to occurred to justify Little Information in your packet. With respect to the stockton area we had a lot of concern about that. Thats why you have the proposal now with the large window. We had a lot of discussions about who that what would be a variance on the opening. The conclusion that i came too and the staff came to this particular building it unusual enough that by go adding windows or slot windows would actually detract from the architecture building and thats a matter of opinion. Thats the conclusion why this particular approach is interesting. The large window is dramatic along stockton and the staff is recommending approval on this project thank you. Commissioner johns you know a reoccurring at home is who
That criteria and obviously 16. 5 million is not enough to address all of the play grounds and however, our goal is to get all of the wood play grounds off of the book so to speak. I would be happy to go into more detail on any of the city wide pots if you want. But i will jump to the city wide park. Which as i said are Golden Gate Park and mcclarin and lake merced. We are beginning this fall, an out reach process about both lake merced and Golden Gate Park, mcclarin park is a bigger task. We are going to try to stage our resources so to speak, and to tackle the community out Reach Associated with that project. Later on, we tend to do for our projects in the Neighborhood Park projects and we expand this model for the city wide programs is just conduct somewhere between three and Ten Community scoping meetings to figure out what are the priorities for stake holders, what are the priorities for you in terms of allegation of these dollars. So those processes will begin, as i said for the
Dollars and this is the first project out of the gate of the 2012 bond and we are pretty excited about having something so quickly for the bond. Garfield square is another one of our pools. We have 9 pools in this system. At the end of this bond, all of our pools will have been upgraded. And will have been touched between the 2000 bond and our 2008 and and this bond and which is important for the public to have a nice facility and also for the department in terms of maintenance and energy usage associated with those facilities. The Recreation Center and there is a playground that you probably might even know exists if you are facing the rec center. And actually much smaller, and old, and the play grounds to the right and so we be upgrading that and begin the programs for the use of that site in a few years, in 2015. Margaret hayward, spoke about briefly, this is a complex site for us and really exciting, the site as you may know is really choped up right now. And there are buildings in
