IRON MOUNTAIN Dickinson County Healthcare System was locked down after receiving a bomb threat Monday evening.
The DCH call center got the call at 8:48 p.m. from someone who had disguised their voice, stating they had placed a bomb in Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, according to a news release from Joe Rizzo, director of public relations and business development .
Hospital administrators enacted a “Code Orange” protocol, locking down the building and alerting local authorities of the threat, the release stated.
Law enforcement arrived minutes later and swept through the hospital, starting with all public access points, patient care areas and thoroughfares. Patients and staff remained in place with limited activity while authorities addressed the threat.
