IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County Healthcare System was locked down after receiving a bomb threat Monday evening.
The DCH call center received a phone call at 8:48 p.m. from someone who had disguised their voice stating they had placed a bomb in the hospital, according to a release from Director of Public Relations and Business Development Joe Rizzo.
Following emergency action protocol, hospital administrators enacted a “Code Orange,” locking down the building and alerting local authorities of the threat, the release stated.
Law enforcement arrived minutes later and swept through the hospital, starting will all public access points, patient care areas and thoroughfares. Patients and staff remained in place with limited activity while authorities addressed the threat.
