What I Buy and Why: Art Dealers Elli and Millie Jason Foster on How They Collect as a Mother-Daughter Duo
The pair directs London s Gillian Jason Gallery.
Heart Headed (2014).
Gallerists Elli and Millie Jason Foster are on a mission to uplift women artists. The mother-and-daughter duo are committed to identifying and supporting emerging female talent, and leveling up their careers on an international stage.
Together they direct London’s Gillian Jason Gallery after its founder and family matriarch Gillian Jason passed on the reins in 2017. Founded in the 1980s, the gallery was known as a champion of Modern British artists like David Bomberg and Walter Sickert. But the next generation has built upon that legacy and, under their care, has refocused on building the careers, and boosting the institutional visibility, of women artists.

The chief executive of Aberdeen Harbour Board is to leave the organisation.
Michelle Handforth will step down as chief executive of the board this summer to take up a position with Network Rail.
A recruitment process to find her successor has already begun, with an announcement to be made in due course.
Ms Handforth said she would make every effort to ensure the handover for the new chief executive of Aberdeen Harbour Board is “seamless”.
“During my time with the Harbour Board, I have enjoyed working with the best people in the Ports Industry and the business community,” she said.

Money set aside for oil industry Christmas parties which were scrapped this winter has now been ploughed into north-east charities.
Staff and management at Subsea 7 felt funds reserved for the celebrations and office events should be given to community initiatives this year instead.
Another £2,000 has been split between smaller organisations.
Subsea 7 senior vice-president, Steve Wisely, hopes the donations can help “ease the challenges many local people are facing”.
