Nerve Centre has awarded seed funding to three short film projects through the BFI Film Academy Venue Education Fund programme in the form of Production, Fundin.
Supported by Netflix, the awards recognise and celebrate some of the talented young filmmakers, aged 16 to 25, whose films screened as part of this year’s festival.
The panel will be chaired by Mark Herbert, producer and joint CEO of Warp Films and includes actor Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton, Derry Girls), filmmaker and actor Aml Ameen (Boxing Day, Yardie), director Runyararo Mapfumo (Sex Education) and documentary filmmaker Kyla Harris (It’s Personal).
Running 17 to 20 February, the festival programme will be available online globally for free, and in person at BFI Southbank, to aspiring filmmakers aged 16 to 25.
