The San Francisco board of supervisors historic use of laws and policies have targeted and harmed the African American community intentionally and the eventually, and its the cause of Police Brutality and the loss of black lives, and our health and wellness in our community. Defund sfpd. The Police Department has not used the public funding for all of the public good. Greater funding should be directed more intentionally to Community Programs and spaces to strengthen us. C. , along with fellow fadc organizations had to swiftly just our skills to support those suffering increased unemployment, homelessness, severe food insecurity, increased policing and tenant harassments and evictions. More than 20 of registered nurses are filipino, and many more of our hidden frontliners are filipino senior caregivers, nannies, and housekeepers. At first, he thought somebody was playing a joke on him but realized this was a scary and dangerous situation. This Surveillance Video shows a moment when a gun with pistol whipped him. The owner says two men walked into the store just after 11 00 last night. One, holding another employee at gunpoint in the back. The other, grabbing cash. I wanted to be alive. I want my coworkers to be alive. Reporter and air force veteran fought back. He reaches for a gun near the register. The rubber pistol whipped hymns twice more but not before mark fired a shot. I didnt even know i him. I just shot once. Reporter the suspect fired his gun first, the bullet leaving a hole in the display on the roof. The suspect collapsed and died about a block from the store. And im here on behalf of my friends and neighbors and as a board member of the Bay Area Housing Advocacy Coalition to thank supervisor brown for her Wonderful Service for district 5. She has always led with her heart and with her head as a pragmatic progressive. We are so thankful for everything shes done for our district, for district 5 and advocating for the people who are most vulnerable in securing Affordable Housing for those who need it and honestly, every weekend and weeknight, just picking up the trash and cleaning up graffiti, talking with everybody and really making connections with everybody in our district. Im a long time resident of district 5, i to california in 1947, and i watched all the things that have happened over the years. Met anyone who cared so much to pick up the garbage, to pick up the people, try to find places for people to live, try to help all of us to develop new relationships and understanding here in our district. And i would like, again, to thank you so very much for what you have done. I want to say, im with you all on the city college. But i came here to talk about the Reparations Initiative. And i also came here to not necessarily talk about racism and those type of things, but to talk about acknowledgement and being overlooked. Most of the time when black people are hired, you know, except for franklin, most of the time when black people are its about us struggling against something and fighting some oppression, but you never acknowledge this, and i understand the city, you never acknowledge this for our contribution.
