Panaji, April 3 : Goa Archbishop Fr. Filipe Neri Ferrao on Saturday warned about the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and forces of darkness at play in the country, in his message to Goa on the eve of Easter Sunday. Like last year, this year too we are celebrating Easter at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic continues to hold our world to ransom, with its trail of suffering, mourning and death. We also see forces of darkness at play in various parts of the world, including in our own country, Ferrao said.

The Vatican is to investigate allegations against an Indian bishop two years after some priests and laypeople accused of him fathering two children and embezzling church funds.
A team of church people has been appointed to probe the claims against Bishop K.A. William of Mysore (now Mysuru) Diocese in southern India’s Karnataka state, said a church official who asked not to be named.

The Biblical Year of the Pauline Family with the theme “That the Word of the Lord may speed on,” was launched by the Pauline Family, Goa along with the Diocesan Centre for Biblical Apostolate on November 26.
The inaugural Mass by Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao was televised on CCRTV on 26 November at 7.00 a.m.
Announcing the Pauline Biblical Year in January 2020, the Major Superiors of the Pauline Family in Rome said that the common objective of the year-long celebration of the Biblical year is “To renew ourselves through familiarity, study and prayerful reading of the Sacred Scriptures, in order to live the Word of God so that it reaches everyone, especially those on the existential and thought peripheries.”
