Panaji, Dec 31 (IANS): There is a need to fight the culture of individualism and sense of indifference towards other faiths and cultures, Archbishop of Goa Filipe Neri Ferrao said in his annual message on New Year s eve. Whatever the New Year has in store for us, we can make it better by resolving to live more as one family, with the world as our common home, Ferrao said in his message on Thursday. While fighting the challenges like individualism and indifference towards other people s faith and culture, may we forge ahead to work unitedly for genuine peace and progress in our land, especially in our little state, the Archbishop added.

Panaji, Dec 24 : Prayer services with seating arrangements for limited number of persons as per government SOPs, special mass services in churches for senior citizens, and strict enforcement of face mask rule at all times during prayers are all part of the new normal amid the coronavirus pandemic as Goa gets ready to celebrate Christmas this year.
One of the most popular religious events in the coastal state, the Christmas-eve mass this time would be held as per the new rules to formally usher in the festive season, said Fr Walter D Sa, the parish priest of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception church, one of the state s significant churches.
