Fantasia’s 25th Edition Announces First Wave of New Programming!
The Fantasia International Film Festival is proud to announce the first wave of programming for its upcoming 25th edition. Set again to take place as a virtual event accessible to audiences across Canada. The festival will run from August 5 – 25, 2021. It will also include scheduled screenings and premieres, panels, and workshops. Films will once again be hosted on the leading-edge platform created by Festival Scope and Shift72. As the summer approaches, Fantasia organizers will be following advice from local health authorities in Montreal. All with respect to the possibility of adding a limited range of physical events as well. In celebration of the key role that Japan’s culture has played across Fantasia’s history, the festival’s 25th edition will also be featuring an enhanced focus on Japanese cinema.

The 25th edition of Montreal s Fantasia International Film Festival will take place virtually this summer, and today we ve got the first wave lineup announcement.
Running from August 5 to 25, the fest will include the world premiere of Fantasia-favourite Richard Bates Jr. s gonzo spiritual quest
King Knight, Edoardo Vitaletti s debut period occult drama
The Last Thing Mary Saw and actor-turned-director Mark O Brien s new Canadian horror classic
The Righteous.

EU in Kenya launches European Film Festival as part of Europe Day 2021 celebrations

The European Union (EU) in Kenya recently held an online event hosted by 2 Kenyan artists; Sanaipei Tande and Nyashinski, to mark Europe Day 2021. The online event showcased Team Europe’s work in Kenya and also included musical performances by the 2 artists. The Europe Day event was followed by the launch of the European Film Festival with European and Kenyan Films, which runs from 9th to 30th May, 2021.
The online event featured video messages from the EU Ambassador to Kenya, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EU Member States Ambassadors, the European Investment Bank (EIB), among others.
