DICKINSON Sheriff Corey Lee will continue to be the face of law enforcement for Stark County for the next four years after defeating Fern Moser 69.5% to 29.8% Tuesday evening with more than 8,700 votes counted.
DICKINSON A highly publicized and televised debate on Tuesday night aimed at providing candidates for public office an opportunity to debate and engage constituent concerns was largely a one sided affair, as many candidates were absent from public scrutiny.
Accusations levied against incumbent Stark County Sheriff Corey Lee and his opponent, Fern Moser, surfaced this week in an anonymous letter posted to multiple public social media pages in Dickinson. Both men agreed to speak with The Press to address the accusations confirming some and refuting others.
Disillusioned with the lone candidate on this year’s ballot, 301 voters turned to a campaign for write-in candidate Fern Mosser. On Tuesday night, the surprise addition of Moser to the November ballot set the stage for a battle for the five-pointed star between two individuals with extensive law enforcement records.
