Irving Greenberg and Shirley Greenberg are names many Ottawa residents may recognize for their appearance on local buildings and institutions, but the true depth of their extraordinary impact on the city was honoured this morning at the Visionaries Breakfast for Queensway Carleton Hospital (QCH).
There were signs Lumière was going to be unique and different long before reaching the hotel lobby. A pair of antique cars parked right outside the hotel surely tipped people off.
“This feels like family, doesn’t it?” asked Jacqueline Belsito, co-chair of the upcoming Ottawa Philanthropy Awards.
There was a collective laugh, and judging by a sea of nodding heads and warm smiles, it was hard to disagree.
Belsito welcomed nearly 100 people at a Rockcliffe residence last Thursday to kick off the giving season, which will culminate in the 28th Annual AFP Ottawa Philanthropy Awards on November 10.
