Woman found dead in apartment; police shoot armed man By Chris Conley

WESTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – There was an officer-involved shooting in the Village of Weston early Friday morning.
Police were called to the Oak Ridge Apartments on Ferge Street and Neupert Avenue around 3:30am. Everest Metro PD says they received a call from a woman requesting assistance. A woman was heard screaming as officers approached the apartment. EMPD says their officers were confronted by an armed man. Police discharged their weapons. The subject is now hospitalized in critical condition.
Police say a deceased woman was found inside the apartment. No names have been released.

WESTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) â Everest Metro Police were called to whatâs describe as a âcritical incidentâ in Weston.
According to WAOW-TV thereâs a heavy police presence at the Oak Ridge Apartments on Ferge Street and Neupert Avenue. Everest Metro police and the Marathon County Sheriffâs Department are on scene.
The incident involved at least one person being shot around 3:30am. More information isnât available.
Police say the public is not in any danger.

WESTON – State investigators are working to determine what happened early Friday morning at a Ferge Street apartment complex that ended with a woman dead and a man in critical condition.
The Wausau Daily Herald has contacted police officials, gone to the scene and talked to people in the neighborhood.
Everest Metro Police Chief Clayton Schulz said he could not answer questions because an outside agency is investigating. A spokesperson for the Wisconsin Department of Justice said the agency was not releasing any more details than what it included in a news release Friday morning.
