Everybody. Im rob nelson, filling in today for john muller. We do begin with breaking news out of north carolina, where several people are hurt after a state fair ride accident. The vortex flips riders upside down, then spins them. But this one started up again while people were trying to get off the ride. Five people were sent to the hospital. Two are listed in critical condition. Eyewitnesses say riders were thrown to the ground. Screaming and a lot of people in pain. Family members actually ran away. Like, they couldnt bear to look at it. They were dropping at about 30 feet high up in the air. Some of those hurt may have included members of the same family. And diana perez. We begin with a teacher murdered and a student under arrest. Hundreds of people gathered for a vigil to remember colleen ritzer. Investigators found ritzer stabbed to death in the woods behind the boston area school where she taught math. Heres abcs karen travers. Reporter this grisly murder has left a Community North of boston in shock. She was a very respected, loved teacher. Reporter 14yearold philip chism is accused of fatally stabbing colleen ritzer, a beloved math teacher at Danvers High School, where chism was a student. The Danvers High School teacher did not return home from work. And was not answering her cell phone. Danvers Police Initiated a search for the teacher. And discovered blood in the second floor bathroom at Danvers High School. Reporter ritzers blood was found in a second floor bathroom late tuesday night.
