And diana perez. We begin with a teacher murdered and a student under arrest. Hundreds of people gathered for a vigil to remember colleen ritzer. Investigators found ritzer stabbed to death in the woods behind the boston area school where she taught math. Heres abcs karen travers. Reporter this grisly murder has left a Community North of boston in shock. She was a very respected, loved teacher. Reporter 14yearold philip chism is accused of fatally stabbing colleen ritzer, a beloved math teacher at Danvers High School, where chism was a student. The Danvers High School teacher did not return home from work. And was not answering her cell phone. Danvers Police Initiated a search for the teacher. And discovered blood in the second floor bathroom at Danvers High School. Reporter ritzers blood was found in a second floor bathroom late tuesday night. Her body was found later in the woods behind the school. Danvers high school is in a new building, thats equipped with 130 cameras. Law enforcement sources told abc news, theres Surveillance Video inside the school that shows chism hauling ritzers body from the bathroom towards the woods, in what appeared to be a recycling bin. She was born to teach. She loved working with kids. They gravitated towards her. As much as they loved her, she loved them hundred times more. Reporter chism was silent as he was arraigned in court. He was ordered held without bail and is currently being charged as an adult. Just days ago, a student arrived at a Nevada Middle School with a handgun and shot a teacher who tried to stop him. Ritzers last tweet expressed sympathy for that school community. She was just a young, caring girl that had the whole world ahead of her. And to be taken so tragically, its awful. President obama dealt with the fallout personally. All i can tell you is what the president told the chancellor. The United States is not monitoring and will not monitor the communications of the chancellor. Reporter but listen closely. White House Press Secretary jay carney, said the u. S. Is not monitoring and will not monitor. He did not say that the u. S. Had never monitored merkels communications. Its not just germany. Yesterday, a judge ruled he should be tried again because his former lawyer failed to adequately represent him. Skakels current lawyer is expected to request bail today. And if approved, skakel could post bond and leave prison. The drunk driver whose youtube confession went viral, has been sentenced to 6 1 2 years in prison. Matthew cordle admitted in the video, after a night of heavy drinking, he drove his car the wrong way, causing a crash, which killed a man. Some smoky scenes after a fire erupted under a bay area trapt transit train. It was traced to a semiconductor under one of the cars. Passengers had to be evacuated. No one was injured. And now, we turn to a developing story from northern california. It is causing anguish, even outrage this morning. All of it stemming from the shooting death of a 13yearold little boy. He died on tuesday, after being fired on by police. The entire episode raising a lot of questions. 13yearold andy lopez was in the eighth grade. A trumpet player, popular and smart. On tuesday afternoon, lopez was carrying a pellet gun that was designed to look like an ak47. He began to turn toward his right, in the direction of the deputy. In so doing, he moved the gun toward the direction of the deputy. And the deputys mindset was that he was fearful he was going to be shot. Reporter lopez was shot several times and died at the scene. A 13yearold little boy. You can tell him, just put it down. And tell him its not a real gun. Cops shouldnt have shot him six, seven times. Should have, you know, yelled at him. I mean, im sure you can tell hes a 13yearold boy. Hes not some maniac. Reporter one man says he saw the Police Arrive in his rearview mirror, just moments after he warned lopez to put the rifle away. He pulled over to the kid walking side. And he just opened the door. And shoot him. Reporter a memorial for lopez is growing at the scene of his death and at his school. Police are promising a transparent investigation. And the deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave. And back here on the east coast, saving the life of a 13yearold boy. A new Jersey State Police officer being hailed as a hero. This dash cam video from the officers car, shows him leaping into action along a highway in trenton. The boys parents had pulled over after he started choking on a Chicken Nugget. I ran up there. I got behind him. Started the heimlich. After several thrusts, food started coming up. And after a few more, a big piece of Chicken Nugget came out. Yesterday, the family reunited with the troopers that gave julian a souvenir sweatshirt. Theyre not calling themselves heroes. Road work, eastbound 580 greenville road to north flynn until 9 00 this morning. On the peninsula we have road work southbound oregon express way to shoreline and the richmondsan rafael bridge no, north 880 between 23rd and birthday way, the ongoing construction on the bridge headed in the eastbound and westbound direction because of road work is not bad. Traffic is flowing with in fog. We have developing news. Bart is racing to reopen the orinda station in time for the commute. A fire under a train tied up service last night. Amy hollyfield is at the orinda bart station with the latest. We got here we were surprised to see the train is still on the track. Firefighters are surprised they are still here, too. This turned out to be more complex than they thought. They have in estimation when they can move the train. Here is video of how this started. There was smoke coming from under the tracks at 6 15. They were able to evacuate the people off the train. No one was hurt. When they got the fire out, firefighters realized a huge 1,200 pound sell any conductor box fell off the train on the tracks. The only way to move it is to break it apart into pieces and they are still working on that. What looked like it would be a two hour thing and we with put out the fire and they would move
