New York, NY (77WABC) – The latest NYPD statistics, uncovered by 77WABC, reveal fifty New Yorkers were shot just last week alone. On top of that startling statistic, of those fifty shootings, 30 of them occurred this past weekend.
Staten Island was the sole borough, according to the NYPD, which did not report a shooting incident during this past weekend. Violence erupted in all four other boroughs including multiple shootings in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and in Manhattan.
The latest incident happening in the Soundview section of the Bronx. Police released surveillance video the suspect the moments before and after shots were fired at 1535 Taylor Avenue. Detectives say a man exited a black Mercedes-Benz SUV, walked passed the victim, and then doubled-back, towards the victim, before he then fired his weapon.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) There has been a concerning number of shootings in the Big Apple this weekend.
Since 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, CBS2 has confirmed at least 15 shootings across the five boroughs.
Reporter Cory James was in Red Hook, Brooklyn, on Sunday, where two of the incidents happened.
Police told James an innocent bystander shot was leaving a party.
The red lights on a building in Red Hook were surrounded by the flashing lights of police cars on Saturday night. Police were patrolling the area after a 30-year-old woman was shot in the stomach outside a Tesla building.
