KUALA LUMPUR: The transfer of Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali, who presided over the SRC International Sdn Bhd trial, out of a criminal court is to replace a judge retiring from a civil court.
A statement by the Chief Registrar’s Office here yesterday confirmed that Justice Nazlan’s transfer from Criminal High Court 3 to New Civil Court (NCvC) 2 will be effective March 1.
“This is a normal practice for judges. Justice Nazlan’s transfer to the civil court is to replace Justice Wong Chee Lin who will be retiring, ” the Chief Registrar’s Office said.
Previously, before he was assigned to the criminal court, Justice Nazlan was attached to the commercial division and has experience as well as expertise in civil and commercial matters, it added.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 23 The Malaysian Bar president Salim Bashir said the transfer of judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali who convicted former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak last year is a “normal” matter.
Free Malaysia Today (FMT), quotes Salim who said that there was nothing wrong with the transfer of judges from court to court as it is up to the Chief Justice of Malaysia (CJM).
KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 24): Former Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad will know on Feb 3 next year his fate on a RM3.09 million graft charge in relation to a hotel purchase in Sarawak.
High Court Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali fixed the date to give his decision on the case after hearing deputy public prosecutor Afzainizam Abdul Aziz and defence lawyer Datuk Salehuddin Saidin give their oral submissions in the case earlier this morning.
The defence had earlier closed its case on Sept 3 where a total of six defence witnesses, including Isa himself, testified in the trial, while 15 prosecution witnesses also gave evidence.
