TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State cross country teams will start the postseason on Friday by racing in the 2022 ACC Championships at the Panorama Farms course in Earlysville, Virginia. The University of Virginia will serve as the host team.
The men’s 8k will start at 10:40 a.m., followed by the women’s 6k at 11:30 a.m. Both races will air on ACC Network Extra and live timing will be available. Coverage will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Both races will see 13 teams step to the starting line on Friday carrying a national ranking or have received votes in the latest USTFCCCA poll.

Results Crimson Classic | Results Nuttycombe Invite Madison, Wisc. – Known as the most competitive and toughest race in the regular season, the NR/No. 24 Florida State cross country teams closed out the 2022 regular season at the Nuttycombe Invitational, which was held on Friday at the Zimmer Championship Course in Madison, Wisconsin. The 24th-ranked women’s team stepped to the line for the 6k race alongside 35 other teams. FSU was one of the 28 squads carrying a national ranking or receiving votes. In a field of 263 runners, the Seminoles were aggressive at the start as three runners went out with the lead pack. Alyson Churchill paced the Noles, crossing the finish line in 51st with a time of 20:33.0, which was her personal best. Emmy Van den Berg followed in 83rd at 20:46.9 ahead of Agnes McTighe (20:57.5) in 111st. The FSU Invitational has been held in Tallahassee since 1973 and at the ARP since 2009. The meet will feature over 30 teams in each race, with the men’s 8K starting at 7:40 a.m., and the women’s 5K following at 8:15 a.m. Live timing will be available. “It’s really exciting for us,” FSU head coach Bob Braman said. “We’ve got over 30 teams for each gender. Statistically, it will be the largest number of people to ever run a collegiate race with over 300 people in each field. This will be a lot of fun. NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The RV/RV Florida State cross country teams competed at the historical Joe Piane Invitational on Friday morning at the Notre Dame Golf Course.
Running in ideal conditions, the women’s team finished in fifth place with a total of 175 points, just behind four top 10 teams that included No. 1 NC State (55), No. 3 New Mexico (68), No. 10 Alabama (70) and No. 8 Notre Dame (146).
The Seminoles finished ahead of No. 27 Oregon State (256) and every other team that received votes in the week three USTFCCCA poll.
“The ladies absolutely showed up to compete today,” FSU women’s distance coach Baylee Mires said. “To place fifth at this meet with so many top contenders in the country is an incredible place to be. I’m really excited about the momentum we are building as a group and we can’t wait to compete again in two weeks at Wisconsin.”

The women’s 5k will take place at 10:30 a.m., followed by the men’s 6-mile run at 11:15 a.m. “The Piane Invite is a historical meet,” FSU head coach Bob Braman said. “The Notre Dame golf course has been hallowed ground for cross country runners for over 60 years. It was my favorite when I competed there 44 years ago and I know our vets feel the same way.
