The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR against NewsClick and its founder, Prabir Purkayastha, for alleged violations of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act. The agency conducted searches at the office and residence of the portal s founder. The FIR names the company PPK Newsclick Studio Pvt Ltd, Purkayastha, Jason Pfetcher, Neville Roy Singham, and unidentified others.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a case against NewsClick for allegedly violating the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act. The CBI is currently conducting searches at two locations in Delhi. Last week, NewsClick s Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Prabir Purkayastha, and HR head, Amit Chakravarty, were arrested by the Delhi Police under the anti-terror law UAPA.
