From American Idol to Miss North Carolina and now Azalea Queen.
Victoria Huggins was selected as the queen of the 2021 North Carolina Azalea Festival, according to a Twitter post sent from the official Festival account Monday night.
The St. Pauls native, who won the 2017 Miss North Carolina crown, is currently the manager of community and media relations for the Fayetteville Woodpeckers minor league baseball team. She s the first former Miss North Carolina to also become Azalea Queen.
A UNC Pembroke alumna, Huggins also finished in the top 100 of the American Idol singing competition in 2011 at age 16. She has also performed at the Apollo Theater in Harlem.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - The North Carolina Azalea Festival announced Monday the 74th Queen Azalea for the 2021 Azalea Festival is Victoria Huggins.
Huggins, a former WECT employee, was Miss Wilmington 2016, Miss North Carolina 2017, and a former emcee of both the Azalea Children’s Tea and the Azalea Festival Princess Scholarship Pageant.
As a news producer for WECT/WSFX, she worked third shift on “Carolina in the Morning” and as a traffic reporter.
Currently a resident of Vass, N.C., Huggins counts this opportunity as one of the greatest honors of her lifetime. She is now a community and media relations manager of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, a Class A minor league baseball team, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Miss North Carolina organization and the Fayetteville Urban Minist
The Coffee Scene opened Tuesday inside The Residences at Prince Charles in downtown Fayetteville, the culmination of a plan more than two years in the making.
Plans for the new café inside the historic former hotel were announced in January 2019, but had been repeatedly delayed largely due to the coronavirus pandemic, co-owner Victoria Stout said.
The Coffee Scene, which opened its first cafe in 1996, also has locations in Cameron, Fort Bragg and on Morganton Road in Fayetteville, but for years had received requests from people urging them to open a downtown spot. They long rebuffed those invitations, but Stout said that when she first saw the space inside the Prince Charles, she knew she found the right spot.
FredNats release 2021 game schedule, will finally play at new ballpark
The inaugural season for the Fredericksburg Nationals will feature 10 home stands hosting 60 home games and 10 road game series consisting of 60 games against teams in the newly formed Low-A East League.
The Minor League Baseball season will start on Tuesday, May 4, and end on Sunday, September 19. Series will be made up of six games from Tuesday to Sunday each week.
The FredNats will kick off the 2021 season on the road with a six-game series against the Lynchburg Hillcats (Cleveland Indians) in Lynchburg, Virginia from May 4 to May 9. The FredNats will then return to Fredericksburg for their first official games played in their new ballpark with a home stand against the Delmarva Shorebirds (Baltimore Orioles) from May 11 to May 16.

The Lynchburg Hillcats open the 2021 season at Bank of the James Stadium on Tuesday, May 4 against the Fredericksburg Nationals.
This year the Hillcats will host their 30th consecutive Independence Day Fireworks Celebration. The weekend celebration at Bank of the James Stadium on Saturday, July 3, and Sunday, July 4 will be against a new foe, the Delmarva Shorebirds.
