From American Idol to Miss North Carolina and now Azalea Queen.
Victoria Huggins was selected as the queen of the 2021 North Carolina Azalea Festival, according to a Twitter post sent from the official Festival account Monday night.
The St. Pauls native, who won the 2017 Miss North Carolina crown, is currently the manager of community and media relations for the Fayetteville Woodpeckers minor league baseball team. She's the first former Miss North Carolina to also become Azalea Queen.
A UNC Pembroke alumna, Huggins also finished in the top 100 of the American Idol singing competition in 2011 at age 16. She has also performed at the Apollo Theater in Harlem.
