UAE sends 500,000 Favipiravir Tablets to virus-hit India

The UAE has send 500,000 Favipiravir Tablets to India, which has been struggling to contain the deadly second wave of crornavirus.
Thanking the UAE, Arindam Bagchi, an official spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, has tweeted that “India appreciates gift of another 0.5 million Favipiravir Tablets from our friend UAE.”
India on Friday has reported 343,144 new coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours, taking its overall caseload past the 24 million mark, while deaths from COVID-19 rose by 4,000.
The UAE has affirmed that it stands in full solidarity with the Republic of India amidst the resurgence in COVID-19 cases and the challenging health situation in the country.

The aid comes on top of another 500,000 tablets of the life-saving antiviral drug that was sent on Tuesday.
The UAE sent India 500,000 Favipiravir tablets to aid the country’s Covid crisis.
According to a tweet from Arindam Bagchi, an official spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, the gift of the life-saving antiviral drug deepened the existing ties between the two countries.

Earlier, the UAE had sent cryogenic oxygen tanks, medical supplies to help India fight the devastating virus.
By far the Indian government has received, a total of seven ISO tankers with 20 MT Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) each arrived from United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Mundra Port in Gujarat, a special cargo with medical aid including 157 ventilators, 480 BiPAPs, and other medical supplies, and 18 cryogenic oxygen containers.
