It means that when residents get their council tax bills in March, the Metro Mayoral Precept will remain at £12.67 for a Band A property (£19.00 for a Band D property) for the second year in a row. Mersey Tunnel Tolls for City Region residents will remain at £1 for those using a Fast Tag and £1.80 for those paying by cash or contactless.

The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Transport Committee endorsed plans to freeze the tolls during a meeting on Wednesday, paving the way for them to be approved later this month. The plans would see Mersey Tunnel Tolls for City Region residents remain at £1 for those using a Fast Tag and £1.80 for those paying by cash or contactless.
