Millionaire philanthropist Pete Kadens has created two college-scholarship programs Hope Toledo, in his Ohio hometown, and Hope Chicago, which he co-founded with investment-management executive Ted Koenig and launched in September. The goal: provide debt-free college to public-school graduates.
Hope scholars can use their fully funded scholarships at one of Hope Chicago’s 20 partner colleges, universities or other educational programs across Illinois including four-year colleges, the two-year City Colleges of Chicago, and some private colleges as well as trade and professional schools.
More than 500 more students learned Friday they were eligible to attend college debt-free college under the program joining 3,500 students at Al Raby, Noble Johnson, Benito Juarez and Morgan Park high schools.
